Below is the new schedule and locations for Caring for Internationals/Life Among the Nations’ English practice events for ASU’s Spring semester.

Tuesday’s English Class begins January 19, 2010, from 7:00pm-8:00pm in ASU’s Memorial Union 2nd floor room:

Jan. 19, Feb. 9, 23, March 2, 9, 23, 30, April 20, May 4: MU 207

Jan. 26, Feb. 2:  MU 242

Feb. 16. April 6, 13, 27: MU 246

FRIDAY English practice begins January 22 from 10am-11am at the Christian Challenge building, 1322 S. Mill Ave, Tempe 85281. Contact Melissa at mlows@cox.net for any questions about this fun class!

Our Tuesday FREE lunches will start up again on Tuesday, January 19 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the Christian Challenge Building (1322 S. Mill Ave, Tempe 85281)

International Wives Activities will also begin Wednesday’s 9:30am at the Christian Challenge Building 1332 S. Mill, Tempe.  It is for International wives and their children.

Jan’s international women’s Bible study will continue to meet on Thursday nights beginning January 21, at the Crossroads Apartments (Orange and Terrace) (apt. #35).  Please email if you have questions or need a ride.  You do NOT need to be a Christian or own a Bible for this fun discussion time.

English Practice using the Bible is available by request of students. Please let me know if you are interested in studying the Bible, but are not able to come to our Thursday times.

Finally, our Canadian doctor friend, Elizabeth Hahne is again offering a parenting class for internationals.  If you have kids between 1 – 7 years old, plan to have baby, or want to check it out then you will appreciate this class.  It will be a great help for you.  Please invite your friends if they are interested too.  Call Hsueh Mei Chen (Mandarin speaker) or e-mail her if you have any questions.  Her phone number  is 480-759-2359.

Parenting Group for Parents of Young Children (International parents)

Learn about early child development and the capacities your child needs to overcome difficulties.

Gain an understanding of your child that can help you decide on optimal ways to react to him/her.

Find out about practical parenting ideas you can use to help improve your child’s behavior.

This group is for parents with children aged birth to seven years.

We will be meeting Wed. 6:30 – 8:00 pm Jan. 20 – Feb.28 in Building 4 at Church on Mill (1300 S. Mill Ave, across the parking lot from the Christian Challenge building).  Child care is provided.
